Adjudication of Press Council of Kosovo on the Complaint of Mr. Avni Gashi journalist against Kosovarja magazine
5 December 2008In its meeting held on 02 December 2008, Press Council of Kosovo was informed on the complaint of Avni Jashari who is a journalist of Java newspaper against Kosovarja magazine issue no. 23. 2008, on the editorial entitled: “Am I waiting for the end of the world” and rendered the following:
ADJUDICATION
Kosovarja magazine is not a member of the Press Council of Kosovo and according to its applicable Statute, the Council can not adjudicate on complaints filed against the non-members.
However as an authority that deals with observation of Press Code, Press Council will write a letter to the editorial office of Kosovarja magazine asking from them to seriously observe the part of editorial under subtitle 2012 and asses the plagiarism from the article of Avni Jashari published in Java newspaper on 06 November 2008 entitled: Xhuma (Friday) 21 December 2012, end of the world? Or a new beginning?”.
